Hi, I’m Dr. Faye Licata, the owner of Licata Dental in Chesterfield, Missouri, where my mission is to provide comprehensive dental care to individuals and families in the Greater St. Louis area. I grew up in DuQuoin, a small town in southern Illinois, and the excitement of my first loose tooth sparked my interest in dentistry—by age six, I knew I wanted to become a dentist.
After graduating high school in 1980, I earned my biology degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign and went on to graduate from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 1988. I completed a one-year general practice residency at the VA Hospital in St. Louis before opening my private practice in Chesterfield in 1989.
My dental interests focus on linking oral health to overall wellness through comprehensive diagnosis and personalized treatment planning. I take great pride in helping apprehensive patients achieve the dental care and healthy smiles they deserve. I also have a passion for reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry, helping patients create the perfect smile—but, more importantly, ensuring function and comfort.
Education is the foundation of my approach. I have always believed that teaching patients about their oral environment is the key to achieving lasting oral health.
I am also a career-long member of the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, the Greater St. Louis Dental Association, and the American Academy of Women Dentists.
Experience
I have had a long-standing interest in forensic dentistry and have proudly served as a volunteer member of MERIT (Missouri Emergency Response Identification Team) since 1997.
In addition, I have been actively involved in professional volunteer programs since 2005, including Donated Dental Services and Give Kids A Smile, both of which provide free dental care to underserved members of our communities. These experiences allow me to give back while supporting oral health for those who need it most.
Only 6% of all dentists in the US have reached the elite status of becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and Dr. Licata is one of them. With this Fellowship, Dr Licata engages in advanced continuing education (CE) to keep current on the latest dental technologies, techniques, materials, equipment, procedures, and management strategies. This Fellowship is also for dentists committed to offering exceptional dental care.
Becoming an AGD Fellow requires years of advanced training, passing a comprehensive exam, and completing hundreds of hours of continuing education. This distinction reflects my commitment to staying at the forefront of dentistry so I can provide the highest quality care for my patients.”
